چکیده

−This article reports the calibration procedure for a commercial Solartron 7835 densimeter which is currently used as “reference” instrument in an automatic apparatus for the calibration of on-line densimeters. Three different materials (fluids), whose densities are known at the usual working condition of pressure and temperature, are used for characterizing the reference densimeter. The procedure applied at the INRIM to produce accurate parameter estimates in the densimeter calibrations is described in this papers. It is based on the application of the weighted least square method (WLS), considering together with the uncertainties of the dependent and independent variables also those of the model. The model analysis performed by a Chi-square test and the expected uncertainty computed over the calibration range have shown to be fully consistent with the experimental data.

Physical apparatus parameters and model for vibrating tube densimeters at pressures to 140 MPa and temperatures to 473 K.

Vibrating tube densimeters are well-established tools for measuring fluid densities precisely at elevated temperatures and pressures. However, the conventional method of calibrating them utilises a model in which the apparatus parameters are represented as polynomials of temperature and pressure that contain a variable number of terms. Here a robust, physically-based model is presented and demo...

Tetrabutylammonium Bromide System

Vapor-liquid equilibrium and density measurements have been performed on 1.00-5.89 m tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) in mixtures of 2-propanoland water. The VLE experiments were performed using a modified Othmer still a t ambient pressure. The effect of salt on the relative volatility of 2-propanol was evaluated at molalities of 1.00,1.79, and 5.89 over the full range of solvent composition. ...

Volumetric Properties of the {x1[C4mim][MeSO4] + (1 − x1)MeOH} System at Temperatures from (283.15 to 333.15) K and Pressures from (0.1 to 35) MPa

Densities of pure 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium methylsulfate, [C4mim][MeSO4], and its mixtures with methanol have been measured. Measurements were made with an accuracy of ±0.2 kg·m-3, using a vibrating-tube densimeter, over the temperature and pressure ranges (283.15-333.15) K and (0.1-35) MPa, respectively. The experimental densities for the pure ionic liquid and alcohol have been correlated b...

PVT Measurements on 4'-/i-Octyl-Biphenyl-4-Carbonitrile (8CB) up to 300 MPa

P, Vm, Tdata have been measured for the smectic, nematic and isotropic phases of 4'-n-octyl-biphenyl-4-carbonitrile (8CB) in the temperature range 300-370 K and pressures up to 300 MPa. At atmospheric pressure all phase transitions appear to be of first order due to a discontinuity in the density. The volume change at the smectic A nematic transition is only a tenth of the volume change at the ...

Volumetric Behavior of Water–Alcohol Mixture at 673.15 K under high pressures. I. Methanol and Ethanol Solutions

The densities of water-methanol and water-ethanol mixtures were measured with the laser-doppler type vibrating tube densimeter at 673.15 K in the pressure range of 25–40 MPa. The excess molar volumes Vm E for all mixtures studied were evaluated from the experimental values, and the dependences of alcohol composition for Vm E were fitted with Redlich-Kister equation. For all mixtures studied, Vm...
